Mutual fund is an investment instrument that pool money from many investors and make investments in different financial securities (stocks, bonds etc.) to generate returns for its investors.
1. Closed-End Mutual Funds have a fixed number of units issued by the fund and limited lifetime.
2. Open-End Mutual Funds do not have a limit on the number of issued units with perpetual nature.
A fund’s Net asset value (NAV) is calculated by subtracting all its liabilities from all its assets. The NAV per unit of the fund is then calculated by dividing the NAV by the total number of outstanding units.
Shariah Compliant Mutual Fund is a type of fund that invests within the boundaries of Islamic Shariah laws. It generates profit by investing in a portfolio of Shariah-compliant securities, vetted by the Shariah Supervisory Committee Board.
Minimum lumpsum (one-time) investment is 500 (Five Hundred) units for Individuals and 5,000 (Five Thousand) units for Institutions.
For SIP Investment, minimum monthly deposit is BDT 1,000.
A lumpsum amount is best if you have surplus cash that you’re looking to invest.
If you wish to invest small amounts each month, SIP is ideal.
